“I felt really depressed and I was stuck in a rut caring for my wife 24/7 not making the time for anything else. The nurse told me about Social Prescribing and I wasn’t aware something like that existed. The Link worker advised me of all the activities I could get involved in and I had no idea how much was happening in my community.”

Patient was referred to the Eden Project’s Horticulture Therapy Programme.

“I have met really nice people and have been involved in the planning of the garden. I was given produce from the garden to take home and incorporate into a homemade soup to take back to the garden and enjoy with the group. Every week we eat together and share food which is a great social opportunity.”

Patient was also signposted to the Eden Diabetes Walking Group.

“I found the walk very educational and the staff and volunteers were very knowledgeable. I got to meet new friends and see the new art exhibit which I really enjoyed.

I really enjoy the Eden groups its giving me something to focus on and get me out the house. I have found everybody at Eden so empathetic and really kind to me.”
