The fantastic work carried out by Social Prescribing Link Workers (SPLW) continues across the County, with staff reporting they are as busy as ever!

There are now 40 Social Prescribing Link Workers who cover the majority of the GP surgeries plus 6 Social Prescribing Community Development Workers, based in the community.

Many people are seen 1:1 at surgeries or online if they prefer. Thousands of “Social Prescriptions” have been given to individuals to support their health and wellbeing and connect them to support and activities available in their communities.

In addition, this year has seen the introduction of Social Prescribing Community Development Workers across the County, all employed through the voluntary sector social prescribing partnership. The seven individuals work very closely with the surgery Social Prescribers, Community Makers, and local community networks to look at provision gaps in Cornwall and try to set up new activities, groups etc., as required.
